Every embroidery piece Rozy Haze Studio sells is designed and hand-stitched in the heart of Brooklyn, New York, where founder Katie (Robyn) Rose Rigney’s grandmother Rose Mary was born and raised. Rose Mary gave Robyn their middle name and taught them to sew... with limited success (in Robyn’s defense, they were six and not very coordinated), and is Rozy Haze Studio’s namesake.

When New York City went into lockdown in March 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Robyn started reteaching themself to sew, and ended up falling in love with embroidery along the way. They just couldn’t stop stitching, and that’s how Rozy Haze Studios was born.

After graduating Wellesley College, Jersey girl Robyn returned to their “ancestral homeland” of Brooklyn, NY, where they work as a librarian. When they’re not working, reading, or stitching, Robyn can be found writing, playing tabletop roleplaying games, or “jeerleading” for Gotham Roller Derby as Cosmic Fay.
